Eurotherm EPack-1PH Compact SCR Power Controller

EPack power controller is a compact fully featured power controller from Eurotherm, combining a high level of functionality and configurability with simplicity of setup and operation. The combination of advanced configurable firing modes allows close matching to load characteristics for maximum process efficiency. EPack is highly configurable and may be adapted for current and future needs using a software key to purchase additional functionality when needed.

EPack 1-PH SCR controllers are designed to carry currents from 1 to 125 amps, with operating voltage between 100 and 500 Volts

WARNING 1) If control type does not include current limit function by phase angle reduction (V2CL or PWRCL control mode): calculate the maximum current of the load by taking into account of load resistive tolerance (tolerance and variation due to temperature) and voltage tolerance. --> With voltage tolerance of +10% and load resistance manufacture tolerance of +/- 5% and load resistance variation in temperature of +/- 7% the product rating have to be equal or greater than 1.25 x I load nominal (where 1.25 = 1.1/(0.93x0.95)). 2) If control type does include current limit function by phase angle reduction (V2CL, PWRCL): the current limit function by phase angle reduction may be selected to limit the inrush current of the load and reduce the current rating of the product (select "Enable" for "I Limit" In quick code with V2CL or PWRCL control types.) --> With current limit function by phase angle reduction, select the product current rating greater than or equal to the nominal current of the load. Setting of current limit function by phase angle reduction must be lower or equal to product current rating. Warning: Due to load and mains voltage fluctuation and tolerance, it is advised to keep a margin factor of 1.2 when calculate the max current rating of the product. It will prevent to keep the current limitation by phase angle reduction always active. The product installation has to follow the product specifications and environmental constraints in temperature and altitude. Note that duty cycle current limiting feature in burst mode (when IHC, BF or FX + TFR option); does not limit the peak current value. Select the product current rating greater than or equal to the MAXIMUM current of the load. Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury. If SWIR (Short Wave Infrared) load type is used: 3) --> With SWIR Load, if a fast response time is required (firing mode IHC, PA or BF), select SWIR (Infrared) as Heater type. If SWIR is selected as Heater type, select the product current rating greater than or equal to 125% of MAXIMUM current of the SWIR load WITHOUT taking in account the inrush current due to load variation in temperature. Adjust the duration of the safety ramp (SafetyRamp) and the cooling time of the load (SWIRLoadCoolingTime), to limit the RMS load inrush current SWIR to less than 2.5 times the product current rating. With voltage tolerance of +10% and load resistance manufacture tolerance of +/- 10% the product rating have to be equal or greater than 1.53 x I load nominal (where 1.53 = 1.25 x 1.1/0.90). 4) --> With current limit function by phase angle reduction, select the product current rating greater than or equal to the nominal current of the load. Setting of current limit function by phase angle reduction must be lower or equal to product current rating.
