To build panels for data acquisition and logging to provide traceability.

Project 1 Outline

Electroserv was asked to build and test the control panels for full safety and functionality, including Flash testing (at 1400V) and temperature stability etc for a leading manufacturer for Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Power generation, Pharma etc. The purpose of the panels is for Data acquisition and logging, so that in the event of a Valve failure (with significant consequences in the off-shore Oil and Gas industry), they can provide traceability of records of their in-house testing. They use an industrial “Raspberry Pi” to interface with digital and analogue Inputs and outputs.

Project 2 Outline

A few months later Electroserv was approached again by the same company to build two further panels for testing Deep Sea High Pressure valves. The only difference in these panels is that they utilise a NI (national Instruments) Compact DAQ rack as opposed to the Raspberry Pi in the previous panels. The NI Compact DAQ is a high accuracy, reliable Data Acquisition system, that enables traceability of the valve testing process results.

Conclusion

We were able to design, build and test the control systems in our state-of-the-art controls and automation facility at our Head Office in Macclesfield.
