Calibration of 36 flow meters in 5 days at a steel manufacturing site.
OBJECTIVES
To remove 36 meters from the process line at the customer site, take to Electroserv lab to calibrate and re-install on site within a 5 day shutdown period.
PROJECT OUTLINE
Electroserv had 5 days to remove 36 flow meters from the process line at the customer site, calibrate them and re-install on site within a 5 day shutdown period. The flow meters were removed from the process line at the customer site in Scunthorpe on Monday and transported to Electroserv calibration lab in Bramley (200 miles away). The flow meters were calibrated using Electroserv flagship flow calibration rig. Flow meters were then transported back to customer site on Friday and re-installed both mechanically and electrically.
CONCLUSION
This job was a challenge because of the time constraints. We had a 5 day window to complete the job because of the customer shutdown period. A team ‘all hands on deck’ approach resulted in this job being completed within a very tight timescale.
