This is a great opportunity for an instrumentation/calibration technician to join a growing, market leading OEM of sophisticated process instrumentation for high profile customers in all industries.
Responsibilities:
- Field based covering the UK
- Occasional trips covering the whole of Great Britain and the Continent
- Calibration service and repair on process instrumentation
- Technical Support and training of customer staff
- Building relationships with clients on site
- Carry out field and work shop calibrations
- Raising Service reports and Test Certificates
- 70% Field – 30% Workshop/office/home
Requirements:
Essential
- Must have Instrumentation calibration experience in one of the following sectors – chemical, life sciences, power, food, steel, water, waste water, paper, oil & gas, petrochemical.
- Clean Driving licence.
- To be highly self-motivated and can work on their own initiative and as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working activities
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbally and written
- Assertiveness
- An ability to develop good working relationships with customers
- Good organisational skills
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
Desirable
- Field experience / customer facing experience
- CCNSG Card
- CompEx 1-4 / 1-6
- Worked within process and/or petrochemical environments
- Electrical and controls knowledge
- Profibus knowledge
- UKAS knowledge
Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level preferably in Electronics or instrumentation and control
Typical 3-month Activity:
- Visit office to collect work list and required test equipment
- On site 2-weeks calibration of instrumentation on customer site. Possibly hotel away from home
- 2 days completing paper work at home
- 3 weeks of various 1 to 3-day calibrations and completion of paperwork – travelling from home to site daily
- 1-week Northern Ireland calibrations and Temperature Uniformity Survey
- 3 days attending training course as part of your Continuing Professional Development
- 1-week Office based completing in house customer calibrations
- 3 weeks of various 1 to 3-day calibrations and completion of paperwork – travelling from home to site daily
- 3 days completing paper work at home
- 3 days attending training course as part of your Continuing Professional Development
