Instrument, measurement and control specialist Electroserv has been selected by Global Electric Thermal Solutions manufacturer, Watlow to be the UK’s Prime distributor of Eurotherm branded products.

This exciting move will cement Electroserv as a UK leader within the process control instrumentation sector.

The announcement comes after a rigorous 12-month selection process following Watlow’s purchase of Eurotherm. The expansion of Watlow’s European presence is to be boosted by individual national members in major countries, with Electroserv heading up the UK market. Electroserv is the first company selected to introduce The Prime Distribution Program which will provide customers with improved support and easier access to Watlow’s full line of products and solutions.

To qualify as a Watlow Prime distributor, Electroserv demonstrated an ability to continually invest and scale the business. This adheres to Watlow’s strict requirements for service and support and to carry both Watlow and Eurotherm’s product lines.

Managing Director at Electroserv, Simon Fisher said: “We couldn’t be happier to have been chosen as the inaugural Watlow Prime Distributor. We have a great partnership with Watlow and have sold Eurotherm branded products for years. We have full confidence that we can support the UK market and have a unique proposition in that we can supply the full thermal loop.”

Electroserv has made the key appointment of John Walker as sales manager for Eurotherm products to aid the opportunities that this partnership brings. John was previously a sales manager at Eurotherm before its acquisition and has a wealth of experience within the industry.

Simon added: “John was the perfect candidate to onboard to support this huge growth and to assist Watlow in bringing their complete product range to the UK. He has excellent industry experience, he knows the products well and is well regarded in by many of our customers, as well as future customers.”

On the partnership announcement, Watlow’s European Sales Director Sebastian Girard said: “Watlow acquired Eurotherm to establish market share in Europe. It was important we chose a partner which was willing to invest in the opportunity and drive the growth with Watlow.

“Electroserv has proven it’s committed to that already having recruited John who is well experienced with Eurotherm branded products.”

The business has also relocated to new premises, five times the size of its previous site, to accommodate the increase in demand.

Over the next three years, Electroserv is expected to expand its team by 20, in order to serve the UK’s thermal solutions market. This increased workforce will include service engineers, administration support and technical sales experts.

The senior team at Electroserv is also expecting this partnership to contribute an increase to its overall turnover to meet their £10million target.

Steve France, Watlow Sales Manager – Indirect Channel Europe added: “The plan to channel our Eurotherm customers through one main supplier in each country comes off the back of Watlow’s huge expansion initiative with plans to grow 10 times its size in Europe in five years.

“To be awarded the contract, there was a detailed criteria that the distributor had to meet. We looked at existing routes to market and market challenges, the company’s technical capabilities, type of customer, and existing customers its serving. Electroserv ticked all the boxes perfectly.

“Electroserv is well established much like the Eurotherm brand and has similar values to Watlow, so it is a great fit.”
